Abstract
This study aims to identify the failure mode and hysteretic characteristics of shear panel damper made of low yield point steel (SLY120). The failure mode of shear panel damper is different depending on the width-to-thickness ratio (d/t) parameter. Quasi-static cyclic loading test was carried out on four different d/t ratio shear panel damper specimens. The non-linear finite element analysis was conducted using ANSYS LS-Dyna. The finite element analysis results were in good agreement with the experimental hysteresis curve.
