Abstract
With growing concerns of global warming, there are increasing demands for accurate quantitative calculation of building energy consumption. Recent studies for the calculation mainly focuses on the weather and geometric information of a building and its HVAC system. However, this paper argues that divers human activities which consume energy in the building need to be considered and simulated for the accurate calculation and prediction. For the validation of this assumption, the research selected two samples of existing building unites and compared the result of new simulation methodology considering specific human activities with that of Energy-plus, a prevailing tool for building energy simulation. Behavior pattern algorithm of building users was established and utilized for more accurate calculation of energy consumption. In the end, the research could show that the result by this new methodology was closer to the real data of selected samples than that of conventional methodology of building energy simulation.
